Trainee Financial Adviser
Important information
Get to know Jamie
I have recently graduated with a First-Class Degree in Economics with Data Science and have joined Flying Colours Advice as a Trainee Financial Adviser. In this role, I will be working closely with Billy Ambler (a Financial Adviser here at Flying Colours Advice), as well as with people from various other departments, allowing me to gain a strong understanding of every corner of the company. My long-term goal is to become a full-time Financial Planner. I am currently working towards my CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and shadowing Billy to help me achieve this.
As I am new to the industry, my direct experience with clients is still limited. However, I love meeting people of all kinds. Seeing a client will never feel like a burden, and I will always put 100% into working towards their goals.
Being a Trainee Financial Adviser is amazing—I honestly have nothing bad to say about it. I know it sounds cliché, but I truly love my job. I enjoy being able to think critically in a creative way, which is essentially what Financial Planning is all about. Working directly with someone who is already successful in this industry is also an incredible benefit of my role—I don’t think there is any better way to learn than through the hands-on experience I am getting.
I am looking to build a long and successful career in Financial Services, and I am very excited to continue the journey I have recently embarked upon.
Outside of work
I am huge football fan and a tennis advocate. I play football once a week in a 5-a-side team (which gives me a respectable opportunity to wear my Liverpool top), and I also play tennis twice a week at Bradfield Tennis Centre.
On a more musical side of things, I’m currently learning to play the Guitar, so most evenings involve me killing my fingers, but I like to think I have made good progress over the last couple of years so I convince myself that it’s worth it.
