Get to know Cliff
I joined Flying Colours in July 2017 and have managed the finance function since joining. My role includes payroll; paying advisers and all suppliers; providing the board with monthly management accounts; quarterly reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA); quarterly VAT returns; annual statutory reporting; and the annual audit.
Outside of work
I enjoy spending time with my young grandson and socialising with my family. I also enjoy photography, travelling, football and gardening.
What do love about your job?
I work with people I really like, in a relaxed but busy atmosphere. I enjoy the variety in my job, though not everyone would find accounting work as interesting as I do!
What do you love about Flying Colours?
The senior management are very approachable and reasonable. The staff are friendly and help each other. I don’t feel that there are silos or internal politics that are a common feature in many places I’ve worked.
Absolute loves
Football, (good) music, marzipan, scenic areas of the UK, particularly the Yorkshire Dales.
Pet hates
Rap and hip hop, gambling adverts on TV, minor celebrities on social media doing product placements.
